In this seminar Montessori’s approach to teaching reading, writing and grammar will be explored. Montessori developed a phonic reading scheme 100 years ago that is still being used today by teachers all over the world. It is a method that uses materials which are easy to make and which can be easily understood by most children.

We will discuss the stages of phonics teaching using the Montessori method and practice with the materials in the afternoon so that everyone will be able to give some basic lessons by the time they go home!
